Building Confident Therapists from Day One: Our New Graduate Program in the Making

Starting out as a new graduate in paediatric therapy can be both exciting and overwhelming. At Bambini Health, we’ve always believed that great therapists are shaped not only by passion and education — but by the quality of support they receive in their first year.

That’s why we’re currently in the process of developing a comprehensive New Graduate Training Program, designed to guide therapists as they take their first steps into the field. This new program will work hand-in-hand with our 100 Days of Induction — a structured onboarding experience we’ve built to help new team members feel grounded, capable, and well-equipped in their roles. We know that the transition from university to real-world practice can be steep, and our goal is to make that climb feel supported every step of the way.

What We’re Creating:

We’re building an online learning platform that will house practical, easy-to-follow training materials specifically tailored for paediatric occupational therapy. This will include:

• Video tutorials on how to administer key assessments

• Real-life footage of senior therapists conducting assessments with clients (shared with full consent from the families involved)

• Ongoing updates and resources that support day-to-day clinical reasoning, documentation, and intervention planning

  
  

This platform is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice — giving new therapists the chance to see what good therapy looks like, and to build confidence through real-world examples.

Why It Matters:

As therapists gain experience, they learn to look at each child through multiple lenses — physical, emotional, sensory, relational — and that clinical “prescription” gets sharper with time. Our hope is to speed up that process of learning through layered support, reflective practice, and peer mentorship.

We want every therapist who joins our team to feel that they’re not just thrown in — they’re welcomed, guided, and seen.

What’s Next?

While this program is still in development, it’s already something we’re incredibly proud of. We’ve listened to our team, reflected on what really makes a difference during those early stages, and are creating something that will continue to evolve with feedback and practice.
