Meet Sarah
Occupational Therapist
My area of interest is the DIR®, the Developmental, Individual-differences, and Relationship-based approach, which helps children build social, emotional, and communication skills through play and connection. I have a special interest in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, using DIR to understand each child’s sensory needs and help them feel regulated and engaged. What I love most about this approach is how it celebrates every child’s strengths and natural curiosity, creating joyful, meaningful moments where therapy feels like play and children can truly shine.

What inspires me most about working with children and families is the joy of seeing growth happen through play. It’s such a privilege to watch children develop new skills, build their confidence, and become more independent in their everyday lives. I also love supporting families by helping them understand their child’s unique strengths and needs, and empowering them with the tools and knowledge to nurture their child’s growth. Watching families grow together, feel confident, and celebrate each new achievement with excitement is what it’s all about for me.
About me
Sarah has a strong passion for supporting children through the DIR® (Developmental, Individual Differences, Relationship-Based) model, a framework that focuses on building meaningful connections to support development and participation in everyday life. She is particularly passionate about working with neurodivergent children, using a connection-based approach that prioritises relationships, engagement, and understanding each child’s unique developmental profile.

Through this approach, Sarah supports children to build confidence, communication, regulation, and participation in their daily environments. She believes that meaningful progress happens when children feel understood, safe, and connected, and she works closely with families to create therapy experiences that are playful, engaging, and tailored to each child’s individual strengths and needs.

Sarah also has a keen interest in supporting developmental motor skills, helping children build the foundational abilities needed for participation in play, learning, and everyday independence. Her sessions often incorporate movement, problem solving, and child-led exploration to support both motor development and engagement.

Within the Bambini Health team, Sarah plays an important mentoring role, supporting our allied health assistants and new graduate occupational therapists in developing their clinical skills. She is passionate about guiding clinicians to build confidence in supporting children with a range of developmental disabilities and ensuring families receive thoughtful, high-quality support.

In addition to her clinical work, Sarah also works within a School for Specific Purposes (SSP) where she collaborates closely with teachers and school staff. In this role, she provides holistic recommendations and coaching to support students with disability in the classroom, helping educators implement strategies that improve participation, regulation, and learning outcomes.

Families often seek support from Sarah when they are looking for a therapist who values connection, understanding, and child-led engagement, while also supporting children to build the developmental skills needed to thrive at home, at school, and in the community.
